The Wicked Lady pub at No Man's Land Common. No Man's Land Common is an area of heath land that lies between Sandridge and Wheathampstead North of St Albans on the B651 road. Here stands "The Wicked Lady" pub. Named after Katherine Ferrers who it was said turned highwayman in the early 17th century. She was supposedly shot in the pub that was at No Man's Land which was later to be called The Wicked Lady after a Film of that title was made of her exploits in 1945. |
